Pink Shirt Day 2021

Jun 16, 2021

On May 21st, Good Spirits Hospitality proudly supported Pink Shirt Day by wearing a ‘Speak Up, Stand Together, Stop Bullying’ sticker on every uniform.

Originating from Canada in 2008, when two students took a stand against homophobic bullying after a new student was harassed for wearing pink to school – Pink Shirt Day is now celebrated annually and across the globe to raise awareness to stop bullying.

In New Zealand, Pink Shirt Day has evolved to become a platform for celebrating diversity, promoting kindness and inclusiveness, as well as preventing bullying.

Pink Shirt Day isn’t just about schools though, do you know that every year one in 10 workers in New Zealand report being bullied in the workplace?

By celebrating Pink Shirt Day, GSH is proud to be part of a movement that seeks to end bullying, celebrate diversity, and spread love and kindness. As a company, Good Spirits Hospitality will continue to take a stand against bullying, be upstanders in our communities and continue to show our support for Pink Shirt Day in the years to come.
